A Little More About Me

Hi there! I’m Charlene, a Jesus loving, numbers crunching, family oriented introvert. I am a chartered accountant by profession with 20 years’ experience and for the past 12 years I have been working in the financial services sector.

My passion for personal finance was birthed out of my own debt free journey which began in 2011. In 15 months, I paid off US$22K of debt and I have been consumer debt free for the past 10 years.

I've Struggled Too

Along my journey, I realized that my struggles and issues were caused by my lack of financial literacy. Digging deeper, I found out that I was not alone in this area.

Since then I have devoted many hours to research and learning and now strongly believe that everyone should be financially literate and has the ability to experience some measure of financial freedom.

When I’m not busy working, you can catch me reading a mystery novel, catching up on some Netflix, sweating at the gym in a CrossFit class, serving on the Audio Visual team at my church or hanging out with my husband.
